Okay so I have downloaded several "huge" mocap animation databases, with FBX animation files. Great.
Now I want to fix some of them that have bad or wrong movements of joints.
I can't do this in Unity?
I heard that you are not supposed to edit the FBX file, because if you re-import it (click "apply" button I assume), it overwrites the anim file contained within. Darn.
So I select the anim file that's inside of the FBX file, and hit CTRL + D to duplicate. Now I have a copy of the anim file, outside of the FBX. Awesome.
Now I double click it, nothing. Inspector has no big green "edit" button. Unity seriously can't edit this file? Animation window (under Window->Animation) is all greyed out.
I tried adding an empty gameobject, add "Animation" component, attach my anim file to it, and now the Animation window has just a "Add Curve" button that isn't greyed out. It doesn't load the animation file, it just has that creepy button that I ain't going to click, since obviously it didn't load the file.
I tried searching the asset store for anim file editors, nothing. There is no built in way in Unity to edit an aniamation file?
